How do I sign in to the Hostie App?

Sign in to the Hostie App here.

The Hostie app was created to view the history of all phone calls and resolve and unresolve any conversations. Also, you may use it to program new responses.

  1. Hostie App can only be accessed through an internet browser (Chrome, Safari, and Firefox are the recommended browsers).
  2. Hostie logins can be used for as many devices as needed. For security reasons, it's recommended that each individual has their own Hostie login with their specific role and permissions assigned. Learn more about user permissions.

 

How do I create a new login?

Contact help@hostie.ai with the email addresses you would like to receive logins for. Include the user permission for each email. 

Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Accept invitation
  2. Selecting a restaurant
  3. Save the app
    1. iPad / iPhone
    2. Computer browser

Accept invitation

You should receive an invitation to the app in your email inbox. Open the email, and click accept. The first thing you should do is set a password. Note: Each organization will have a shared login and password to use amongst all restaurants.

Once you log in, you’ll see the ability to choose a restaurant in the top left-hand corner.

Save the web app URL

We’ve built the app to work in web browsers for now, which can be saved as an iPhone/iPad app. iOS app will come in the future.

After loading the app in the browser, click the share icon located in the top right corner. Scroll down to ‘Add to Home Screen’, then name it ‘Hostie’.

What are the user permissions?

Manage employee access by contacting help@hostie.ai.

User permissions in Hostie allow you to ensure that your restaurant staff have access to the exact features they need based on their role. You have the option to choose from the five preset roles. Please notify your customer success representative of which roles you would like assigned to which user.

  1. Organization Manager: Full access to all the businesses in the organization
  2. Organization Representative: Can manage the inbox for all businesses in the organization
  3. Manager: Full access to select businesses
  4. Representative: Can manage the inbox for specific businesses
  5. Unassigned: The user can log in but cannot perform any actions or read any data

 

How do I remove or edit a user?

Contact help@hostie.ai with the email addresses you would like to be removed or edited.

 

How do I reset my password?

Open the Hostie App and click 'Forgot password?' to reset your password.

How do I set up my iPad & iPhone to receive notifications?

We use Google Voice to send text summaries to the restaurant’s iPad and to forward calls to the restaurant’s mobile phone. Use the app to text customers back if additional follow-up is needed.

Set up iPad

  1. Use the following credentials to log in through the Voice App:
    1. Email: Email address we provided during onboarding
    2. Password: Password we provided during onboarding
  2. Once logged in, click the menu icon in the top left corner and visit settings. Tap Incoming calls and switch the device that says “This device” off



  3. Tap the 3 dots at the top of the screen, and have the app “slide over”.

  4. You can now swipe the app over OpenTable/Tock/Resy/Yelp/Sevenrooms. Swipe it to the right to have it concealed.

  5. Go to the Settings app on your iPad and set the Voice app’s notification banner style to "Persistent."

 

 

How it will look
